SUMMARY:Firearms Instructor Update
DESCRIPTION:This five-day course will cover the recent curriculum updates implemented by DCJS to the firearms instructor course. The course is designed for CURRENT Firearms instructors who have not yet completed this workshop. Attendees will have 1 practice attempt and 3 official attempts to shoot the course qualification in under 30 seconds including all penalties as part of the requirements for course completion.

SUMMARY:Pistol Instructor Course
DESCRIPTION:This two-week course is designed to train new instructors that have not previously completed an approved MPTC Firearms Instructor course. \nThe course will prepare future instructors in delivering the newly revised firearms curriculum. The most significant change in the new instructor course is the revision of instructional objectives to focus on updated methods of instruction\, firearms handling\, and the integration of evidence-based tactics designed to improve survivability of officers involved in a deadly-force encounter. Due to the hands-on\, physical nature of this course\, seating will be very limited. To attend the training\, the officer must have completed an approved DCJS Instructor Development Course prior to attending this training.

DESCRIPTION:This MPTC approved course is an initial course designed for sworn law enforcement officers who have completed the initial firearms training provided in the Basic Course for Police Officers. It provides law enforcement agencies across the state with a minimum patrol rifle training standard that will enhance public safety and enable agencies to be confident in the capabilities of members of their agencies. After successful completion of the course\, the participant will receive a DCJS Patrol Rifle Course training certificate.

DESCRIPTION:This 3-day class will teach attendees to become more tactically efficient when they are utilizing patrol rifles in a variety of real-world scenarios. The course will combine live fire and simunitions training to teach the attendees advanced skills such as proper use of cover\, structure clearing\, team tactics\, vehicle CQB\, and clearing malfunctions. Attendee must have successfully completed a DCJS patrol rifle operator course prior to attending.
