SUMMARY:Firearms Instructor Course (FIC)
DESCRIPTION:10-day Firearms Instructor Course designed to train all new instructors that have not previously completed an approved DCJS Firearms Instructor course. \nJuly 14th\, 2025 – July 25th\, 2025 \nClass begins at 8:00 am on Monday July 14th\, 2025 at the James H. Small Firearms Training Center located at 42034 State Highway 10 Delhi NY 13753. \nTo attend the training\, the officer must have completed an approved DCJS Instructor Development Course (IDC) prior to attending this training. Students must obtain 90% Firearms Qualification at the beginning of the course to further\ntraining. Attendance for both weeks is mandatory\, and the instructor candidate must be on agency time. Due to safety concerns any holster in which the retention devices need to be defeated by the trigger finger (example: Blackhawk SERPA) are prohibited. \nStudents need to bring: \n\nRange Gear\, Vest\, Hearing and Eye Protection\n1000 rounds of handgun ammunition\n50 rounds of Duty ammunition\n\nRegistration fee is $400.00 per person. We do require a non-refundable $50.00 deposit to hold your place in the class.
